September is a busy time for the arts in St.Ives - with the St.Ives Festival of music and culture during the two weeks from 9th September. YOUR FACE MY ART!

Barnoon workshop will be transformed into a pop up portrait cafe, at various times during the September Festival.  'Your Face My Art' is a live art event, taking a contemporary twist on traditional seaside portraiture.  

Come along and enjoy music and refreshments, or join in and sit for your own portrait, in under 15 minutes and leave with original artwork for just £15.

Play Guitar in a Day!

This easy method is designed for adults with little or no experience, who wish to get a good start playing acoustic guitar.  During the day you will learn 4 chords, learn to read tab, understand the principles of tuning, and play a complete song! This friendly session is taught in small groups, with time for individual assistance. After this days session you should be able to get on with your own learning and playing.

Tues 19 Sept 

Upcycled Jewellery with sparklylynne / 10 - 4 pm

Learn how to make gorgeous, eco jewellery with sparkly lynne - using old, pre- loved and broken jewellery. Be guided with design ideas, techniques for beads and fixings, and tools needed.  All materials are included but feel free to bring your own broken or preloved items.  Limited places so early booking recommended. Costs £45

FIND YOUR WAY INTO SONG WRITING / 5.30 - 7.30 pm

A fun and practical session for developing approaches to songwriting, with Peter Giles. Using discussion, case studies and exercises to explore sources for themes, content and structure, for your own material. No experience needed, or previous musical knowledge. Shibori - Japanese Tie-Dye 

10 -12 am / £15

An introduction into the ancient craft of Shibori - dying with folds, pleats and shape resists.  We will be using a natural indigo dye - with samples of white cotton, but feel free to bring along your own small items of natural fabric to dye. Booking

An open drawing class for all levels and abilities - The sessions are taught by experienced tutors, in a friendly and informative style. Each week we explore different themes and media. from the local landscape, to botanical, portraits, people and animals! All welcome, materials included but feel free to bring your own. A weekly open water colour and mixed media class - each session we will explore a different topic or theme. From still life, portraits, and Weather permitting, paint outside scenes, ...
